Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 August 2026
QuietCut collects nothing. Your videos and recordings are processed entirely on your iPhone and are never uploaded, because the app contains no networking code at all. There is no server to send them to, no account to create, and nothing to opt out of.
Your media
When you pick a video or audio file, QuietCut makes a working copy inside its own private storage on your device so it can analyse the audio and write the trimmed result. That copy is deleted as soon as you close the trim, whether you exported or cancelled.
The trimmed file you export stays on your device until you delete it. If you tap Share or Save to Photos, iOS hands the file wherever you choose — QuietCut is not involved in what happens after that.
What is stored on your device
- Your trim history: file name, duration, how many cuts were made, and how much time was saved
- Your settings: preset, padding, minimum pause length, theme
- How many free exports you have used today
All of it lives only on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Analytics, tracking and advertising
There are none. QuietCut has no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier and no third-party trackers. Nothing about how you use the app is measured or transmitted.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. QuietCut never sees your name, email, or payment details — it only asks iOS whether a subscription is currently active. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.
Permissions
| Permission | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Add to Photos | Saving your trimmed video | Only when you tap Save |
| Microphone | Recording audio in the app | Only if you record |
Importing uses Apple's photo picker, which shows QuietCut only the single file you choose. The app is never granted access to your photo library.
Children
QuietCut is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children — because it does not collect information from anyone at all.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the change will appear here with a new date, and — if it ever became anything other than "nothing is collected" — in the app's App Store privacy labels before the update ships.
